Troopy fit-outs are heavy by nature: drawers, kitchens, fridges, water, 12V systems and pop tops all count toward GVM. Dobinsons offers two kits for the VDJ78 and GDJ78: a 3,900 kg kit that keeps your factory wheels and tyres, and a 4,040 kg heavy duty kit for 2022-on Troopies running load rated rubber.
As an authorised Dobinsons GVM fitter, we replace the factory springs and shocks with a matched, federally approved Dobinsons package. You choose spring rates to suit your accessories and a shock to suit how you drive, and we fit it, update the compliance and send you on your way.

Note: Load rated wheels and tyres must be fitted before the upgrade can be certified. We can supply them as part of your quote.
Pre-rego or post-rego?
Pre-registration
Fitted before first registration under the federal approval. Dobinsons has currently paused pre-rego approval on 70 Series kits due to ADR changes, so new 70 Series are being done post-rego for now.
Post-registration
For vehicles already on the road. An approved signatory certifies the upgrade under NSW rules and your rego is updated. Further charges for state based engineering may apply, and the vehicle may need re-certifying if it moves interstate.

Which Troopy kit should I choose?
If your fit-out and gear come in under 3,900 kg, the 3,900 kg kit keeps your factory wheels and tyres. Heavier campervan and expedition builds suit the 4,040 kg kit, which needs approved load rated wheels and tyres. We weigh your build plan and recommend one.
Can I get it fitted before rego?
Dobinsons has paused pre-registration approval on 70 Series kits due to ADR changes. Post-registration upgrades are still available, and further charges for state based engineering may apply.
What does the price include?
Prices include GST and cover the Dobinsons kit supplied and fitted by an authorised Dobinsons GVM fitter at our Smeaton Grange workshop. Further charges for state based engineering may apply, and load rated wheels and tyres are extra where a kit requires them.
